| | Need to re-install BB Desktop software after every sync!

I am using a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with 6.0 Bundle 1879 Software version (v184.108.40.2068, Platform 220.127.116.11) with the BlackBerry Desktop Software Version 18.104.22.168 Released 7 Nov 2011 (Bundle 38) running on a Windows XP SP3 notebook computer. I use Outlook as my email, contact, calendar, notes client.
I have a strange problem - whenever I want to sync my BB with the desktop, I have to uninstall the desktop software and re-install the software; if I don't do this the BB Desktop Manager does not connect to my BB9700. I can access the BB media card through the My Computer; but the Desktop Manager does not connect! I have uninstalled and re-installed almost 4 times so far and synchronized it after every install; but the next time I try to sync, the desktop manager does not connect to the BB! Please help!
