This issue may be caused by one of the following reasons:
The affected account is not logged in to Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones.
Notifications in the Facebook account are not configured.
The Facebook application on the BlackBerry smartphone is not configured to connect with the messages application on the BlackBerry smartphone.
The Facebook application on the BlackBerry smartphone is not configured to display Email Notifications.

Cause 1
The affected account is not logged in to Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones.
Resolution 1
Log in to Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones. For instructions, see KB14304.
Cause 2
Notifications in the Facebook account are not configured.
Resolution 2
Log in to Facebook and configure the notifications by following these steps:
Log in to Facebook using a browser on the computer.
Click Settings in the top right corner.
Click Notifications.
Verify that the correct email address is displayed.
Configure notification options as required.
Click Save Changes.
Note: A BlackBerry smartphone user has the option of setting notifications for specific Facebook items to be sent by email or SMS. If an item is not selected, notifications for that specific item are not sent to the email address or SMS number listed above the available notifications setttings.
Cause 3
The Facebook application on the BlackBerry smartphone is not configured to connect with the messages application on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Resolution 3
Log in to Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Display the menu and select Options.
Select the check box beside Connect your Facebook account with: BlackBerry Message application.
Display the menu again and click Save.
Cause 4
The Facebook application on the BlackBerry smartphone is not configured to display Email Notifications.
Resolution 4
Log in to Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Display the menu and select Options.
Select the check box beside Facebook notifications.
Display the menu again and click Save.

Note: Notifications for third-party applications that have been added to the Facebook account might not appear in Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones. Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones only notifies the BlackBerry smartphone user of items that are selected to be notified about to the Facebook account.
