| | WiFi Sharing When Sleeping

If my playbook is sleeping or hasn't been used for a period of time (say 5 minutes) I've noticed that if I try to ping the device or connect to the wifi share I'm unable to do so. The only way I can connect is to go to the playbook, open the browser and go to a web page. As soon as I do that the device responds to pings and the wifi share connection works.
Anybody else have this issue? It happens on both playbooks we are trialing in our office so I don't believe its a hardware issue on the device.
