You keep jumping to unfound conclusions. The AT&T policy applies to smartphones and not the particular model, at least so far as I understand. The reference to you perhaps being grandfathered was to a contract and not the model smartphone.
At any rate, no one here knows for sure exactly why the data plan wasn't pushed on you earlier, or why the AT&T rep removed it when you asked. You need to talk to AT&T customer service and go over your situation with them and figure out where you stand. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
