Please post the relevant snippet from your MAGT log. If it has worked before and suddenly stopped, I would not do the LDAP fix. I'd rather find the root cause and get it working again with the same configuration.
Can you do lookups of addresses in the GAL?
We normally have these problems after global catalog servers or Exchange servers have been rebooted. A reboot of BES normally clears that issue.
