You did not detail how or what your using to do the update and backup. I always download the new OS and any other updates to a PC and using Desktop Manager do the updates. doing so OFF LINE. Not sure but it does look like the text has some problems and I may be wise to do a backup without doing the update. If that does not work then something is corrupted in the DB. At this point you can wait or pull the plug. As I said you did not give any details. If the BB does work after then do as above. If not you need to check in the FAQ section at the top of the Forum for details on reloading OS.
