Ok so my blackberry has decided to stop working. The phone itself works although my network seems to be down when it comes to bbm, internet and so forth! I can still make phone calls and sms as per usual!! My BIS (blackberry internet service) is activated. So why isn't it working?

I got told that I need to plug my phone into the PC and refresh my phone, downgrade my OS and then upgrade it again. Although the phone isn't picked up when I plud it in?!

Is there anyway I can fix this without having to do anything through the PC?
