well for one, to tell me who I'm meeting!!!
as an example, some of the people I meet with have long names - sometime as many as 18 characters, and are very difficult to spell. with my Nokia, once they're in as contacts, I can put their name in the subject line with about 5 clicks of the button. faster, easier and no chance of spelling mistakes . another example, I put airline names in as contacts - same thing, if I'm meeting a flight passenger, with a few clicks I can put in the airline and the terminal. Same with hospital appointments, after setting up the dept as a contact, each specialism and its location (which can be in different buildings and even different sites) can be input in a few clicks rather than typing it all out, and as I go to five different clinics with appointments schedules months in advance, its important to avoid a blanket description such as "hospital" (which takes up more button presses and conveys less info) otherwise I'd have to look somewhere else to see what site and building I have to go to. If I have to look up other details I may as well use that as a primary source rather than the phone.
Quite honestly, I'm amazed that you ask the question. A better question would be why would you type something in from scratch when you can recall it in a few button presses?
In answer to the other response which I've seen posted many times on this forum, its a shame you feel the need to be so negative whilst bumping your post count. Telling me to use another device is a form of denial.
