BlackBerry smartphones up to OS 7 will not run Android applications. The PlayBook, and soon to be release BlackBerry 10 smartphones will run Android applications that have been through a simple porting process (provided they are compliant with the Android Plyer technical requirements). The Android application vendor will have to convert the application, but this can be as simple as running the Android application bundle (APK) through a conversion process to great a BlackBerry application bundle (BAR). RIM Development support are available to help, so if you would like to see a particular Android application available on BlackBerry 10 or PlayBook contact the vendor and suggest they port their application.
