there are a few different ones.
some of the clocks on the Appworld site require OS10 or higher
and some only support models other than the 9850.
the link you show does indicate it supports your phone. If it causes issues it may be a conflict with another App or
maybe the OS on the phone is corrupted and should be reloaded.
As for re-paying for the App, did you reregister the new phone? It should allow you to download Apps you already paid for provided they work on your phone.
I would check your account and see what phone it thinks if registered.
