This is my first post so sorry if somebody already bragged about same things. I am Mac user for about 8 years now. I am about to retire my 5 year old iPhone 3G in favour or BB9900.
Actually I am swapping every few weeks those two phones. iPhone became very slow and painful to use. I like my 9900 Bold and everything is nice and dandy in regards to it just one thing is really driving me nuts and back to iPhone.
That is BB sync software for Mac. As you can guess syncing is quick, complete easy. BB software is completely different thing. It is latest version 2.4.0 Build 17. 9900 software is 7.1 Bundle 2108.
It promptly senses connected BB and opens up. After that things slow down considerably. It takes minutes to sync Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Tasks. I could live with that but then there are pop up messages announcing that i should review conflicts. There are tens and hundreds of them, mostly with contacts. So I "resolved" everything even overwrote BB but still whenever I click SYNC button in right upper corner I get same results. Even if I try sync again after 2 minutes. It kind of repeats all that slow sync and discrepancies in records.
Also, I am trying to sync photos and music with no luck:
> for photos it says I need iPhoto 8 and I have iPhoto 6
> for music I select playlists and music I want to sync and it software tells me in that can't find media card and media card memory is nicely shown on the bottom of the screen with some pictures and music I manually loaded into it. It says that it is 7.4 GB and 2.4 GB free. I really don't understand it?
So far my conclusion is that somebody in RIM should really re-work sync for Mac. It should be sweet task since that means Apple users prefer Blackberry for phone. I actually like it very much, keyboard, screen, navigation pad, speed.
Can anybody suggest what shall I do to get better syncing?
