Unhappy Unable to assign a device to a specific user

Hi people!
I've been reading the whole day this forum for a case like mine and couldnít find a solution.
My scenario:
Mails stopped arriving to a BB user (John Smith). The device (letís say Device1) had internal problems so I had to wiped it out.
After that, when I try to assign the device to the user JohnSmith the BAS throw me this message: "The BlackBerry Administration Service was unable to retrieve specific device attributes from the device that is connected to your computer."
What I have done by now:
1.) Wiped the device [Device1]
2.) Erased the user [John Smith] from the BAS (none of that worked)
3.) Assigned another user [Bob Thomas] to Device1 and It worked fine. I was able to assign another user to the same Device1.
4.) Assigned user John Smith to another device [Device2] and I got the same error message "The BlackBerry Administration Service was unable to retrieve specific device attributes from the device that is connected to your computer."

Bottom line, the problem lies on the user, but where exactly?

I would love some help!!!
