| | BB Curve 9320 - Email Issue

In advance, thanks for any help: this issue has been driving me a little mad for a good few days.
I am trying to set up my email account on my BB, using: <Setup> <Email Accounts> and then inputting my email address and password.
When I click the <Activate> button, I receive the window which informs me 'Acquiring service connection...'
This window stays on for several minutes and then I receive the following information:
'Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable.'
In my [Mobile Network], my [Data Services] are turned [On].
[While Roaming] is [On].
[Connection Preference] is [Mobile Network Preferred].
I also have a wi-fi network enabled and am able to connect to the internet, using my mobile phone.
I have tried a 'soft reset' - removing the battery while my mobile is turned on then, replacing after 5 seconds - but, unfortunately, this has not helped.
I have no idea what else I should do. Please help, if you can.
