Ripoffs CO-129FFM/v2

Hands on review by lgreenberg

Price as reviewed: $14.95

I recently reviewed the Ripoffs model CO-129M here. In the review I mentioned how the case didn’t really work well with the 8700c. Well it turned out to be the wrong model Ripoffs for the 8700c. This week I managed to track down the proper case made specifically for the 8700c. I now bring you Ripoffs model number CO-129FFM/v2.

This model is definitely made specifically for the 8700. It even says so right on the package.

Packaging is as no nonsense as it gets.

This case is made from durable nylon and features a Velcro flap closure. It also has a super strong metal belt clip.

This version of the case does have a sleeper magnet installed and it works perfectly when the Blackberry is inserted screen in into the case.

Once inserted in the case it remains quite slim although rather wide.

The device does sit low into the case making it a little tough to remove.

The metal belt clip offers a slim profile when worn on the belt.

Most Ripoffs cases feature a hidden pocket inside the case. For some reason this version does not have the pocket.

This case is perfect for someone who likes a nylon case but needs some protection. There is some padding inside the case which will help protect the device if it is dropped or bumped.

I give this case 3 out of 5 Blackberries.

Pros: Slim profile, inexpensive, magnet built in.
Cons: Non ratcheting belt clip, Velcro closure.
