After installing the new Desktop software and such for my 7510 I saw that a new Standard Modem was added on COM3. Like others, XP won't ever see it when I do diagnostics.
I have several questions about this. First, I removed the modem while I was fiddling around with some settings and now I don't think I have it added back in correctly. I tried adding a Standard Modem back on COM3, but my choices are for specific speed modems like 33.6 or 56k, etc. So I added a Standard 56k Modem on COM3, but now the Hardware ID is different when I go to diagnostics (it shows moto1_gen). Before it showed something like genmdm or something, I forget.
Any way to get it back to what BB installed without reinstalling all the software?
Next, I was fiddling around with the BB Handheld Manager and I was playing with Handheld Connection settings. I ended up enabling COM10 and COM11 at various times which now has consumed those ports. When I try to Disable them I either get a blue screen of death or else the computer just freezes with no blue screen.
All that in an attempt to have my 7510 work as a modem, oh well. Any ideas?
Thanks,
David
