.....Time for a newbie to chime in with a stupid question

Using this method I could still use the internet on my BB7290....presumably with NO problems....and not pay the extra $20 a month for BES...not to mention the $15 I pay for unlimited text, pix messages etc...(T-Mobile). How does this affect SMS? Just set it to use GPRS for sending messages?
