I thought I posted this already, but I don't see it...

Desktop: 4.0
BB OS: 4.0
PC OS: XP Home
No BES/No MDS
BB Modem: booya!
This took a little playing around. I finally deleted the Network connection and the "Standard Modem" rebooted everything, and installed a new "Standard 56K modem".
I re-registered, requested new service books, ensured the proper APN (internet.com for my network). I rebooted pretty much after each new item. This should be entirely uncecesary, but I didnt feel like getting to the end and then wondering if it would have worked had I rebooted...
Voila! I'm back online with the BB Modem on my 7290 4.0
