You can fix it at home. You will need to have the Desktop manager and the TMobile OS installed on a computer. You should also download the JL_cmdr from this forum. Then, just JL (option 5) to erase the unit. Then just open up DM and double click on loader. If the DM doesn't recognize the unit, go to connections and configure for USB, then dbl click on the App loader.
You will have a fresh install of the latest from Tmobile, this will very likely take care of the messenger problem as well.
