Exclamation Dreaded red X on sent emails

I have several bb users (7520s all of them). most of them are working fine, but on 3 or 4, they can receive but not send emails.
The error message on the unsent emails is: Sent using desktop (secure), Message: Unlisted message error.

We have a BES (Version 4.0) and are using the latest version of MS Outlook.

I am on hold w/level 3 tech support at sprint/nextel. So far, they have had me regenerate the encyrption key, kill the handheld & user and reactive, tested the PIN.
I have no real training in this....thrown in the deep end, and sometimes I sink like a stone!

Any suggestions?
