Is there a way to install a Blackberry Driver without installing Desktop Manager?

The basic idea is we want users to be able to charge USB Blackberrys from their PC's and laptops, but there is no need to sync - ever. Everything is set to wireless sync.

The second part of the question would be, will the PC charge the device even if it does not have the driver installed?
