I do not think YOU understand.

Cancel your contract and they will make you pay an ETF. They are not going to let you take your number with you! ALL of the service providers do this so it is YOU who do not understand that they sell you your phone at a lower price and expect you to stick to your contract to pay for it.

If you want a fresh Blackberry, go to eBay and get you one. It is cheaper than what you are thinking of doing.
