I think I'll stick with the stock setup. Since upgrading to the Rogers' setup somehow my Pearl is louder. I also like how if I have it in a shirt pocket the sound is channeled up toward me better. I tried it with the cover off in my pocket and it definitely isn't as loud in my shirt. It may be slightly louder when laying on a table but it wasn't bad before.
