Mencoder - Dubbing In Other Languages -

OK. I've encoded 20-odd movies from my own DVD collection so far. I didn't have the time to watch each one on the phone after I encoded it. I basically just encoded each movie, fired it up on the PC just long enough to make sure I had both sound and video, and went on to encoding the next.
I loaded one on my phone the other day, and the movie was dubbed in Spanish.
I have since checked all the movies I encoded so far. 3 turned up encoded dubbed in a language other than English. One in Spanish, two in French. I have no clue what made this happen.
However, after some digging, I found the switch to prevent it:
-alang en
This will force mencoder to use the English soundtrack when it encodes. I put it right before the input file path/name. I advise everyone who uses mencoder to go ahead and put this switch in the encoding string. It doesn't hurt anything, and it may save you hours of encoding time. And some frustration, of course.
FYI.
