I just swapped the guts from my 8700c into a housing for an 8700g. Of course, I found the detailed instructions after I made the swap.

Anyway, I had two complete units (the g was water fried) and it seems to be working just fine with the c guts in the g housing.

I got the idea for switching the housings from this thread, so I wanted to post up and give props to those of you who figure this stuff out for the rest of us.
