I haven't installed anything like BlackBerry Alerts or anything that would affect the ringers/notifiers.
I did get a replacement from Sprint. As soon as it was activated and the service books were sent I sent myself an email and sure enough, it too had the problem with the extra tones. Personally, I just want RIM to be aware of this problem and to correct it in a future OS release for the 8703e.
I imagine that quite a few RIM employees browse these forums. If anyone from RIM is reading this, can you please report this problem to the appropriate people?
