OK Charlester, I think I understand. I haven't really tested this scenario but you are adding numbers as exceptions in your profile? In the menu it looks to me like it allows you to choose a custom phone tune but still use a profile (Active profile by default). This is not working for you?
You could try setting the audio type in BB Alerts to audio instead of profile, but you won't get to choose a ringtone that way, it'll be an escalating beep tone.
