Yeah the LED control is pretty much all or nothing. One thing you can do with the latest version (still in testing) is you can set separate alerts up (instead of just one generic alert), so you could set to be notified for all events and then in the profiles just set sound to none. This way you will get LED for whatever color you choose but not get an audible alert.
