Yeah...I hated it too. I did get a good explanation of why you might want to have the light on though. This person worked in a building that had "so so" phone coverage. The green light (or lack there of) told them the status of the phone's coverage. That way they didn't have to keep grabbing their phone and seeing if it had coverage. Important for emails coming in.

But yes, to me..the green coverage light is annoying.
