I've not heard of that problem before. My best guess is that the DM is sensing that the battery is not charged. The battery may be powering the device ok but sending info to the software that it's not. I'd say replace the battery but who wants to spend money on a BB that may be no good. Can you borrow one from someone to test out and see if you can get the OS to load?
