I am doing the same thing 5-5.5 hour radio program captured and then moved to my Pearl for daily entertainment. What are you recording and how? I use audiograbber (free) to schedule and record the radio shows I am recording. I haven't had any problems at all, 2GB MicroSD and a ton of music and my radio shows. A friend makes them for me. I think it was just an issue with that one file because others since have been fine on all different mp3 players (bb and multiplay).
However its unfortunate that you can only FF and RW at minutes at a time and not seconds, like an ipod or other mp3 player devices. This is true of both bb and multiplay software. The same holds true when watching movies with the bb media player.
Kinda sucks.
