This same thing happened to me with me 7105 on T-Mobile. Luckily it was still covered by the warranty so they just shipped me a new one. I have also seen this on a couple other 7100's, I think it is a known issue with that series. The best you could do is get an external charger to keep the device alive, but that means no wired connectivity and its kind of a pain. Maybe its time for a new device...
