Aren't you the lucky one! Try this first, while the BB is powered, take battery out and reboot the device. Look at Phone, Options, General Options, Phone List View and see how that is set (which should not change a person's name from Kathy to 4). I wonder if there is there some odd setting in the address book for Kathy, or whoever. The phone list recent calls should reflect the name as formatted in the address book, or a simple phone number IF they are not listed in the address book.
