Hi, this is Lisa from MobileTechReview.com chiming in. Here's something even weirder-- after trying 3 different 2.5mm stereo earbud headsets (one from a WinMo device, one for the Treo and yet another for Samsung) none worked, as we mentioned in the review.

But today we just got in the Plantronics Pulsar 260 which is an A2DP stereo Bluetooth headset that happens to use a transmitter that you connect to Plantronics 2.5mm wired stereo earbuds (looks like the Plantronics MHS213 earbuds to me), and they work! Both channels play through. And the stereo BB headset that came with my personal 8800 works, so that's another option for those looking for stereo.

All of these headsets use the exact same connector with identical ring placement. It really makes no sense unless the 8830 is very particular about impedence level on the headsets.
