I have the exact problem that others are describing. I would think that RIM could have made the 8800 with a STANDARD 3.5mm headphone jack instead of this small 2.5 CR*P!! My iPod (industry standard MP3 player) uses 3.5, why not RIM?? I know that I can listen to my music through my iPod but on those rare occasions, I would prefer to carry one device around and have a few songs instead of lugging a phone & a MP3 player. I would love to get my hands around the neck of the engineer who decided on this design.

The only option I have tried is the Radio Shack adapter that converts 2.5 to 3.5 and makes use of 'stereo' and guess what, it doesn't work. Looking at pictures of the adapter on the Seido website and the 'useless' adapter I hold in my hand, they appear identical to each other.

I would love to buy the Seido adapter and see if they offer the 'miracle solution' but 6.50 in S&H is a hard pill to swallow especially when they can throw the adapter in a 50 cent envelope and ship it off.
