It appears 1.1.0 in MobileTracker terms means beta code. Here is a response I received when asking about the problems seen:

thanks a lot for your feedback. There are still some issues with the current version: First, you need to perform "Start", "Stop" and "Start" again to get the GPS working on some devices. Moreover, the tracking stops when the signal is lost. That are two very bad issues we could not figure out before. Anyway, a new version is already on its way which is supposed fix that.
