All the info is in this thread but here it is put together:
-Go to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8300-v4.2.2.89_P2.4.0.39

-Open the Platform alx file, then click Edit>Find and enter:
fileset pttApp="True" Java="1.0" _vendorID="102"

-Change the 102 to 220 and save and close the file

-Connect your BB

-Run Desktop Manager

-Click APP Loader and go thru prompts it will remove ptt from BB

That is the step by step that worked for me.
