Alright, so I think I've got it figured out. You can just host the MP3's on a webserver and download them through the internet browser then set them as a ringtone in the "Tunes" section. The problem with playing MP3's on the Blackberry is that it isn't headphones supported, so having a MP3 player on it doesn't seem worth it. Not only can an actual MP3 player play MP3's correctly, but it can also hold much, much more. I guess I shouldn't expect a phone to also be a full use MP3 player. It does handle photos nicely though.
