If you do a #HELP* on the phone and hit SEND you will see a screen with a lot of info on it. GPS blatently states it's enabled. It appears that Verizon went in and rather then disabled it may have changed the APIs so that 3rd party apps (even RIM's BBMaps) won't interface with it. That is BLATANT crippling of the device. Same goes for MMS and I'm sure the list will get longer and longer.
