I checked this out on my 8800 this morning, and as far as I can tell, all of my screens, menus, and submenues that are set to be the same color, always display at that color, without any color casts or tints like you are describing.

If they were off at all I guarantee I would notice it. I am a serious photographer and very sensitive to even the slightest variations in color like this.
