I think the true answer will never be known.

What if AT&T really did plan to limit the GPS?

And then the blog let the cat out of the bag...

And then AT&T changed their mind...

And asked for it to be reverted.

Would there ever be a record of this, on the consumer side of things? I highly doubt it.
