Incase some of you are having troubles connecting your BlackBerry to your laptop as a modem and you have your modem drivers installed and under the modem you cannot change your COM port and you cannot query your modem do the hopefully the following may help. If you right click on your BlackBerry Handheld Manager (on your task bar next to the clock) and click settings (it may list like COM1 or COM2 I've even seen Com1 and COM6 and so on) I'm not sure if you just have to do one or both, I got it working so im not touching it, click configure on each COM port and change it from Disabled to the max speed of 115200 and check Enable USB-to-Serial converter compatibility. By doing so you should be able to query your modem now. I use AT&T / Cingular but i have it configured for AT&T and it works. If you get it to work and try it another time and it says "cannot open port" when you try to dial out, query the modem and then it should work, sounds werid but it works.
Hope this helps some of you.
And has any one been on DSL reports and seen how fast their speed is? though AT&T mines 29K down and 9K up and i was wondering if anyone got faster than that.
