Question:

I'm traveling abroad, and my provider has quoted me at $0.02 per kb. I know that my average email is about 2-3kb, so I know how much that will cost me (and I'm on BIS).

However, will my Blackberry be accessing any data in the background? I will close all programs and do a battery pull to make sure things aren't actively running (e.g., Viigo newsfeeds).

I'm new to Blackberries so I'm not sure if apps will be accessing the network even though I haven't run them.

Should I expect any other data transmission going on, as long as I'm not browsing the web, etc?
