if you really wanted the PTT functions + Blackberry mail & BES integration, the 7520 is not a bad way to go. Yes, it is old, but until 2 weeks ago when I finally went to the 8830, it served its purpose well.

Like you I had Nextel for 6 years between regular phones and BB's. I just dumped my 7100i for a Sprint 8830.
