I love the form factor of the current 8800. My favorite so far, with the 7105t (yup, that's right, the 7105t) coming in second. I'd love to see a return to the thumbwheel. Yeah, I know it's not gonna happen, but that's my personal preference. The trackball has grown on me to the point where I don't pine for my old thumbwheel anymore, but I'd still prefer it.
On the OS side, I'd love to see native handling of html email. Maybe an option to enable full html, set to off by default. I'm using BBSmart and love it. Until RIM gets it together and includes native support for html email, however, this will do. I could understand in the past not supporting html for several reasons. Keeping data usage to a minimum, especially in a pre-EDGE environment, made sense. Plus security is an issue, although I've yet to hear of a Blackberry virus or malware. But nowadays networks are fast and getting faster so data usage is not a big issue anymore. If it is for someone, they could disable html on their own device. Similarly, if an IT department decided it was not in the company's best interest to allow html email they could simply block it with an IT policy.
