The font setting on the BlackBerry is only used for viewing text on the handheld.
It does not have any impact on the font used for sending messages, and how they are viewed on the receiving end.
All messages sent from the BlackBerry are send using plain text. It's up to the receiving end to determine how that is displayed in the mail client.
