After setting up a new BES with rather plain settings (i.e. get it all working before exploring too much) we have most of the new Curves all running nice, except a pair. The one for this thread had a partially successful sync, but then the local admin flushed him from the BES and resynced. the problem is that all the messages from the first sync can't be deleted at all.
