Default Blackberry internet and Orange UK - 11-24-2007, 06:01 AM

Hi there

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, as I've just joined.

I have a Sony Ericsson P1i running Blackberry Internet software - it doesn't come pre-loaded, it's a separate download from Sony Ericsson's site.

About a month or so following my original install - which worked fine - a kernel fault developed, which prevented me from using the Blackberry software. I tried everything, uninstalling, reinstalling, re-flashing the device; so in the end sent the handset back to Sony Ericsson for repair.

Having been re-united with my repaired P1, I've just re-installed the Blackberry software but can't seem to get it to work - as in sending and receiving emails. This appears to be as I don't have any service books loaded. I've been to the Blackberry / Orange UK site, requested the service books to be resent; have also called Orange UK and asked them to push them through - yet nothing is turning up.

One related cause may be that the PIN number shown on my device doesn't match the one registered with Orange. I've tried changing this over, using the relevant option on the site, but I get a message telling me it's forbidden.

So what the heck to do? I've called Orange, who tell me to contact Blackberry - who don't seem to have any way of contacting them

If there are any other users out there who are running the Blackberry internet software on a non-Blackberry handset, and who are also customers of Orange UK, I'd be grateful for some advice on how to troubleshoot this.

Thanks in advance.
