I experienced the same with my new BlackBerry Pearl. If you go to your device manager and note the USB devices, and then plug your BlackBerry USB cable into the computer. You will see a new Mass Storage Device or Composite Device has been appended to your list. Select this and update the driver. It will search the web and come back with a Black Berry driver. That is all there is to it.
