Sounds like your company is now using a BES - a BlackBerry Enterprise Server - to allow for secure, fast wireless transmission of e-mail and data.
The "BlackBerry Connect" software, which is available for a limited number of non BB devices, allows the phone to communicate with the BES. It can be done; I was able (with difficulty) to get a Nokia E61 onto the BES. Never tried a Palm.
You absolutely have to speak with your IS group and fine out if they are using a BES, and what devices they allow on their network (our company only allows devices purchased by the company on the network or on the BES).
Good luck! |
