If you're still within warranty time frame you could make a claim with RIM and see what happens. Otherwise I'd look into seeing if it can be fixed. You may have just popped the video cable that connects to the screen loose on the positive side, that can be fixed by taking it apart and taking a look.
If it's the screen that broke you could probably replace it, but if it's the board that was damaged, then you're best off to just buy a new device.
